The film’s plot is about Albert Brooks being sent into India and Pakistan to find out “what makes muslims laugh”. The activities that Brooks engages in eventually starts to cause panic between Pakistan and India.
Jinnah
Jinnah is a 1998 film starring Christopher Lee about Muhammad Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan. It includes the fate of British India concerning the division between Pakistan and India, and other events surrounding Jinnah’s life. There were originally protests from Pakistan concerning Christopher Lee portraying Jinnah as he had portrayed Dracula in the past, but the movie was immensely popular after being released in Pakistan.
Malcom X
Malcolm X is a 1992 biographical film about Malcolm X directed by Spike Lee and starring Denzel Washington. This movie follows the life of Malcolm X, who was a muslim himself, and includes his beginnings as Malcolm Little up to his assassination.
